College of Agricultural Engineering, Ranchi

The College of Agricultural Engineering has been formed under the Birsa Agriculture University, Kanke, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. The foundation stone of this college was laid by former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Arjun Munda on 19th of June 2012. The present campus of the College is located about 13 km from Ranchi Railway Station and about 18 km from Birsa Munda Airport (Ranchi). The location stands at 23.44O N and 85.31O E, the height above mean sea level is 625 meters.
Agricultural EngineeringCollege has been established to train young generation as Agriculture Engineer Graduates so that these trained engineers would be capable of contributing for the growth of agriculture sector and development of entrepreneurship in Jharkhand along with other parts of India and abroad. This college offers four years B. Tech Course in Agricultural Engineering discipline. The syllabus approved by ICAR is followed during four years (8 semesters) tenure. Apart from classroom studies/lecture, students will get exposure during student READY (Rural and Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana)programme which consists of Experiential Learning (EL), Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE), In Plant Training/ Industrial Attachment during fourth year and two Skill Development Trainings during semester breaks. This will enable youngsters to take the challenges and create employment potential in agriculture sector in order to meet region-specific needs and opportunities.

- Department of Processing and Food Engineering
- Department of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
- Department of Renewable Energy Engineering
- Department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering
- Department of Basic Engineering and Applied Science
This College came into existence to give the much-needed impetus for agricultural development in the Jharkhand state through education, research and transfer of technologies related to Agricultural Engineering. It aims to develop and introduce appropriate machinery, implements, soil-water conservation systems and post harvest techniques to enhance the technological aspects in Jharkhand’s agriculture. This college will play a vital role in shaping the future of talented students of Jharkhand by producing skilled technical manpower capable of fulfilling the agricultural need of farmers, establishing food processing industries, undertaking soil and water erosion problems followed by their conservation, promoting applications of renewable energy and farm machinery technologies.
