1. Diploma Course

The Diploma programme is one year duration followed by one month training in Food Industry. To gain floor experience, one month training in the food industry as well as exposure visits to the food industries are integral part of the diploma programme.

2. Diploma In Aquaculture

Diploma and Certificate Course in Aquaculture are being offered in the Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Veterinary Science & AH with mandate to self employment.

The Diploma programme consists of seven courses (Integrated with practical) and one practical course on project formulation equivalent to 32 credits (one credit is equal to 30 study hours) :

  • 10+2 pass can enroll simultaneously for the BPP and the Diploma Programme.
Salient Features of the Diploma Programme
  • The Study Center is at the campus of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU), Ranchi.
  • The first course started from July 2011 session.
4. Certification Course in Aquaculture

  • Basic studies on biology of fresh water fishes with special reference to Indian major carps, exotic carps, air breathing fishes
  • Distinguishing characters, food and feeding habits

  • Composite fish culture
  • Site selection
  • Integrated fish farming
  • Simple techniques of fish breeding
  • Nursery Management
  • Nutritional requirements of various fishes
  • Common fish diseases, preservation and control measure
  • Techniques of post harvest technology
5. Certification Course
Duration :

4 months

Skills to be provided
    • The skill of selecting, handling and use of equipment.
    • The skill of selecting the raw material, quality testing and use.
    • The skill of preparation of different preserved products, technical do’s and dont’s
    • Identical faults and making necessary remedies to get a good product
    • Skill of costing and fixing the selling prices

10th pass

Admission procedure

The candidates will be admitted to diploma as well as certificate course as per merit list prepared on the basis of I.Sc / 10+2 & 10th standard, respectively

Seats and Reservation

There are 10 seats in both the courses and both men and women will be eligible for admission. The reservation policy of the State Government is followed.
